We’re happy to announce two new features that we’ve recently added to the BusinessAdvising.org platform, for both small business owners and advisors: mentorship goal setting, and a tool to schedule meetings between advisee and advisor. Setting up a goal is a great way to hold yourself and/or your advisee accountable for achieving specific objectives within an advising match, and to measure progress. You can also use the goals feature as a place to take and store notes, and as a discussion thread between and advisor and advisee. As a business advisor, you’ll have the opportunity to donate your time and talent to mentor small business owners and help create and retain jobs for people in low-income communities. In the last 5 years, BusinessAdvising.org advisors have helped almost 1,000 companies create more than 1,200 jobs and maintain another 13,000. Our programs have created 1,297 jobs for working people in underserved communities, and empowered 867 companies across 25 states (thanks to BusinessAdvising.org). The small business owners in our BusinessAdvising.org network saw a 29% job growth, and the ones in our broader PCV network saw 12% job growth — vs. the U.S. average of only 2%.
