Supporting small businesses since 1999.
Investing In Good Jobs
BusinessAdvising.org matches small business owners with volunteer business advisors and mentors who provide tailored, hands-on assistance to help small businesses grow and create quality jobs across the nation. When small businesses thrive, communities thrive.
Small businesses are the character of our communities. The bakery that makes your favorite muffins, the store that makes and sells those one-of-a-kind-shirts and hats you love, the coffee shop you remember going to with mom every weekend. That list goes on and on. Small businesses make your neighborhood, town, or city unique. They’re also creating the best local jobs — better pay and benefits, and they keep way more money in the community, than chain stores or big multinational corporations.
Our platform is a program of Pacific Community Ventures, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that engages small businesses, investors, and policymakers to build an economy that works for everyone. We do this by empowering small business owners with working capital, free advice and mentorship, and access to the networks they need to grow their companies. Our programs strengthen local economies, create new quality jobs, and stimulate private and public investment in underserved communities.
PCV was launched in 1999 by two former Silicon Valley executives who saw the resources being made available to venture-backed tech startups (access to capital, expert business advice, and extensive networks) and knew that businesses on Main Street would benefit from the same resources. Those are the companies that we’re working with. Pacific Community Ventures is partnering with small businesses to repair communities across America, job by job. Since our start, the Business Advising program has helped over 4,000 small businesses grow and create jobs in neighborhoods that need them most.
BusinessAdvising.org services are available to small business owners anywhere in America. You can meet some of our hundreds of volunteer advisors here.
